A Crash Course on Careers

A Crash Course on Careers is a 3 day course on job search strategies and career development. It’s targeted for graduating students in the Computational Sciences (Computer Science, Physics, Math, and Statistics). Topics covered include:

  • How to find job openings in your field
  • Accessing the Hidden Job Market
  • Alumni & Employer Panels
  • Résumé and Cover Letter Clinic
  • One-on-One Résumé Consultations
  • Mock Interview Clinic with Employer

Cost is $15 on or before May 1 or $25 after that.

The course is being put on by Career Services and the 4 Computational Sciences departments. Work Your BSc: Résumé Rounds for Science Students

Come to this session to get personal feedback on your résumé and make sure it is employer-ready. You will learn about current résumé styles and strategies and also have the opportunity for a personal résumé review. Small groups of students will meet with a résumé expert and get 10 minutes of personal feedback as well as the opportunity to learn from their peers—picking up tips, tricks, and techniques along the way. Please bring a print copy of your résumé.
